Do you know the difference between Tarmac and Asphalt?
Tarmac is made using a small stone base held together with Tar. Asphalt uses a small stone base but is held together with a mastic resin compound. The difference really lies in the benefits of Asphalt over traditional Tarmac.
Asphalt is harder wearing, less resistant to scuffing from car tyres, is less affected by weather extremes and requires less maintenance generally. Compared to the older, smaller and more hazardous tar-based product, it makes more sense as a driveway surfacing product.
